It is worldwide known that social media nowadays is not only the most powerful form of digital persuasion, but also the most powerful weapon to market your product or services. But obviously, when it is used in the right way! In fact, there are several social media best practices that every social media manager should know and follow in order to increase marketing content visibility.

Among the main strategies, such as: define a social media voice and tone, follow correct social media image sizes, research hashtags before using them and so on, there is also “find the best time to post on social media”. This is exactly our main focus for today!

The truth is that it doesn’t exist a perfect time for all businesses, it depends on the industry you are in, on what you are selling and who your audience is. This means that the ideal time to post on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Linked and not only, is the time of day when your audience is most likely to engage with your content. Despite this well-known fact, numerous studies have been conducted in order to find a general answer to the before-mentioned question.

For example, Sprout Social, found that the best time to post on Facebook is on Wednesday, 11 a.m. and 1–2 p.m., on Instagram on Wednesday at 11 a.m. and Friday from 10 a.m.–11 a.m., on Twitter on Wednesday and Friday at 9 a.m. and finally on LinkedIn on Wednesday from 8–10 a.m. and noon, Thursday at 9 a.m. and 1–2 p.m., and Friday at 9 a.m. On the other hand, Hootsuite, analyzing data from 300 brands, found that the best time to post on social media is between 9 and 12 a.m. EST, early in the workweek (i.e., Monday to Wednesday).

You can use this information to start creating your social media strategy, but the problem is that studies are usually based on aggregate data while, what your business needs, is an ad hoc analysis of its unique audience. What you need to do is to use data from your previous posts and your followers’ activity in order to find the right time when to share meaningful and interactive content so that your audience can see it. If you follow our advice, and analyze correctly and efficiently the data, in a short period of time, your efforts will pay off.
